Read Together

Reading skill and enjoyment begin in the home, long before school starts. Reading to children has been shown to have a positive influence on their school performance and later success in life. Make reading a priority in your home.

Set aside time for the family to read together.

Organize regular family trips to the library.

Limit your children's television viewing, use reading as an alternative.

Let your children see you reading so they know that reading is important.

Read the books your children are reading so you know what they enjoy.

Talk to your children about the books they read.
